Haus of Gloi Cyber Monday Release

Disclaimer - all products were purchased by me.

Here's my small order from Haus of Gloi's Cyber Monday sale. It wasn't a sale per se, since none of the items were discounted. It was more like a limited edition release. I believe there was also a restock of Yule products at the same time. I'm not sure if any of these scents will be restocked.

Ordering from a seasonal or limited edition release is always chaotic with Haus of Gloi, but this time it was a bit of a nightmare. You have to be on the site and logged in as soon as the collection goes live (which typically involves refreshing your browser every 2 seconds until the items are available), then quickly add everything to your cart and race through the checkout to have the best chance of getting what you want. This time however, the Cyber Monday products weren't listed on one page. I had to frantically search the website because the listings were scattered here and there. Some items weren't even on the site until well after the sale began so I had to place a second order. Thankfully they always combine multiple orders and refund excess shipping, but still. There's got to be a better way to do these releases.

His Sweater - a well worn woolen sweater infused with brisk outdoor air, a hint of incense and clean skin musk. Accompanied by three woods and a root: western red cedar heartwood, hawthorn accord and Japanese hiba with a touch of calamus root. This one smells strongly of incense, ozone, and cedar in the vial, like an equal blend of the three. On the skin it's ozone and cedar with the incense softening the edges. It's a crisp woodsy blend that leans very masculine. Sillage is quite strong. I can't comment on the wear time because I scrubbed this off after an hour.

Peppermint Cocoa - a hot cuppa cocoa infused with peppermint. Very smooth milk chocolate with a faint touch of peppermint. It's smells exactly like a cup of hot cocoa and the chocolate is very realistic...not too sweet nor does it smell synthetic. The peppermint becomes a little stronger once it's on the skin but it fades within minutes. The cocoa aroma I was left with lasted less than two hours before I needed to reapply (quick note - I purchased this in a pumpkin butter so wear time may be less than the perfume).

Spiced Cocoa - double the cuppa cocoa and mild wintery spices. It's the same chocolate note as Peppermint Cocoa with an added touch of cinnamon and other spices. The spices are subtle so this is predominately chocolate. On the skin the spice notes become stronger but the chocolate helps soften everything. This is a lovely chocolate scent and it stayed on my skin over six hours.

Mr. Toki's Christmas Yule Logs - deliciously scented of hot cocoa and melted marshmallows. This is similar to the butter bombs that you add to your bath tub. It dissolves in the water releasing mango and cocoa butters to moisturize and scent your skin. Except these butter bombs look like a bag of cat litter lol. It might be hard to see in the picture but there's a few large chunks in the bag that resemble cat poop. Each bag is wrapped in red tissue paper which makes this a great ready-to-give stocking stuffer.

The directions say to pour the entire bag in your tub but this bag is pretty big. The butter bombs are one ounce and I've had good results only using half for one bath. I haven't used this yet, but I imagine you could get three or four uses out of one bag.

Final thoughts - I'm not sure whether I would repurchase any of these, but if I did, Spiced Cocoa would be my pick. And Mr. Toki's logs to give as stocking stuffers. Most of the scents are still available here. At this time they haven't announced a restock so I'm unsure whether this collection will be restocked.
