Lasting Scent Candles Autumn and Winter Scents

Disclaimer - all products were purchased by me.

This review is a combination of the orders I placed for Lasting Scent Candles autumn and winter restocks. I've heard great things about the brand and especially the autumn scents so I was thrilled to get these.

The website only opens a couple times a year and items are available in limited quantities. Things sell out fast so you have to move quickly. The turn around time is approximately thirty business days so it's a bit of a wait because everything is made to order. Sometimes restocks are announced and sometimes they aren't, so you have to follow the Facebook page to receive updates.

Unfortunately the owner Pam announced that she would be closing the company permanently, so at this time I can't say whether there will be an upcoming restock. As I understand it she's going through her supplies to use up the remaining fragrance oils so I treat every restock as if it may be the last.

Amaretto Butter Cream Cookies - a yummy blend of buttery amaretto sugar cookie with sugary sweet butter cream layered in between. I don't think I've ever tried an amaretto blend, so this is a nice change of pace. This is a rich almond cream with a slight boozy note. It's very sweet. It reminds me more of almond extract than amaretto, but it's still good.

Amaretto Butter Crunch Latte - our best selling amaretto butter cream cookie and a shot of espresso with a mallow cream froth. Sweet, boozy almond and a smooth coffee. I smell both notes equally. I'm interested to see how this works in the warmer.

Apple Scotch Waffles - brown sugar glazed apples on top of a buttermilk waffle and drizzled with warm butterscotch. Sprinkled with honey roasted pecans. The red apples are the strongest note, followed by the butterscotch and lastly the waffles. Smooth, warm and mouthwatering! I love this!

Apple Snap - delicious crisp apples, tart cranberries and all those yummy warm spices. Smells like red apples and cinnamon. I think I pick up on the cranberries, but they're more subtle and hard to detect. The apple is dominant, and this scent is really strong on cold sniff.

Autumn Apple Moonshine - oak aged mulled cider, tart apples, juicy mandarin oranges, cinnamon and clove. Smells like hot mulled cider with a light touch of cinnamon. This one is pretty strong. I could smell it before removing the lid.

Autumn Blessings - totally edible blend of pumpkin puree, brown sugar, sweet maple, sprinkled with fall spices. Mmm, this is so good! I smell the brown sugar and maple with a light touch of spices. This reminds me ScentSationals Warm Welcome but lighter on the spices.

Banana Chai Muffins - ripe mashed bananas, brown sugar, nutmeg, clove, pumpkin chai and honey glazed walnuts...baked to perfection. Banana muffins and cinnamon. I don't smell any chai, but maybe that will change in the warmer. The banana smells like the actual fruit rather than banana candy.

Blood Moon - blood oranges and juicy mandarins delicately mixed with fresh ginger, clove, and dusted lightly with cinnamon. Citrus and clove on cold sniff, maybe some ginger. I don't smell cinnamon. It's an effervescent type of scent. It's very similar to The Bathing Garden's Faded Opulence, which is probably much easier to find in a destash than Blood Moon.

Butter Rum Pumpkin Brittle - butter rum, warm butterscotch, pumpkin puree and vanilla butter cream sauce. Mmm! Rich butterscotch with a light boozy note. I don't smell pumpkin. It's a little sweet but mostly rich and creamy.

Cabin Fever - crisp fall leaves, autumn spices with a touch of cedar and mahogany woods. This is one of those scents that manages to capture a brisk autumn afternoon. I smell the dried leaves and maybe a little cedar. It's cool and warm at the same time. I know I've smelled something similar to this before. Maybe if you blended B&BW Summer Boardwalk and Leaves you would get something like this.

Candy Cane Kisses - crushed candy cane sugar smothered in vanilla bean noel yumminess. Pretty straightforward. Mostly peppermint but there's a smooth, somewhat sweet vanilla bean in there too. It's nice, but not unique.

Caramel Apple Empanadas - fried apples, brown sugar crumbles and a doughy shell...with a drizzle of our caramel candy sauce and just a pinch of cinnamon. One of my favorites from LSC. It's heavy on the caramel and red apple mixed with a strong brown sugar note. There's a subtle pie crust type of note underneath that adds a nice warmth.

Caramel Dipped Cupcakes - vanilla bean cupcake batter combined with a caramel candy apple center, then dipped in more gooey caramel. This is mostly vanilla cake smoothed out by the caramel. I guess there's apple in here, but it's so subtle I would've missed it without the description. It's not as sweet as I would expect.

Cedar Wreath - the undeniable aroma of cedarwood, fresh greens and dried citrus peels. It's like a minty cedar blend. I can smell some green notes but no citrus. Very uplifting and refreshing.

Cherry Cider Muffins - fluffy muffins covered in our house blended cherry cider and sprinkled with sugar. I smell a lot of cinnamon and a bold cider note. The cherry doesn't jump out at me right away though. The bakery note is there, and this reminds me more of an apple cider donut.

Chilly Morning - fresh minty air with notes of juniper berries, eucalyptus leaves and sage. It's a lot of juniper and eucalyptus with a touch of spearmint. This is a crisp and refreshing spa type of scent.

Christmas Tea - cranberry spice, sweet orange peel, crushed clove buds marinated with black tea leaves. This one is nice. Smells like cinnamon and cranberries with a touch of citrus to brighten things up. The tea note is detectable but subtle. It smells more like a type of spiced
cider rather than tea. I wish I had gotten more of this.

Cider Dipped Donuts - another delectable donut to add to the mix, this deep fried cake donut filled with apple bits is dipped in an apple cider glaze. Mmmm! An equal blend of apple cider and a warm bakery note. Maybe a pinch of spice too. LSC is really knocking it out of the park with these apple blends!

Clink! Clink! - every New Years Eve toast needs a flute of this fruity champagne cocktail. This is completely different than I expected. It's a bold red berry scent, maybe strawberries and raspberries. I don't smell any champagne or effervescense.

Cob Web Cookies - sweet, sugary and creamy with warm fresh baked cookies. Like sugar cookies and candy corn combined. It's sugary sweet but also has a warm buttery cookie aroma underneath to keep it from becoming cloying. Heavy on the candy corn. This one is so good!

Cranberry Apple Streusel - this dreamy dessert is made with sweet apples and cranberries blended with brown sugar and then topped with a brown sugar and pecan streudel. This blend is all sweetness and no spice. An equal blend of cranberry and red apple, maybe with a touch of pecan. It's a bold and sweet at the same time. I'd like to see more cranberry apple blends because this is really good.

Cranberry Citrus Balsam - a beautiful and festive blend of sugared cranberries, fresh balsam, holiday spices and hints of candied citrus in the background. Is that balsam? I don't think I'll ever learn to distinguish all the different tree scents. But this smells just like Christmas. It's heavy on a fresh green Christmas tree note with light spices. I can smell the cranberry/citrus blend (I think it's the same blend in Christmas Tea) but this is mostly balsam.

Dunkin Punkins - dunkin' sticks with a creamy pumpkin glaze and dipped in caramel syrup. I smell maple syrup, spices and a donut-type of bakery note. It's just like those microwavable French toast sticks minus the pumpkin.

Fall Fest - apples, pumpkins, autumn spices in the air...just like a trip to your favorite fall festival. Heavy on the spices and apples and similar to mulled cider. I have a hard time picking up the pumpkin, but it helps add something extra so this blend stands out among the hundred other apple cinnamon scents.

Fried Apples & French Toast - delicious apples fried in butter, caramelized brown sugar, and cinnamon on top of warm French toast with maple butter syrup. I smell red apples and cinnamon, maybe butterscotch. It's similar to Apple Scotch Waffle but with the addition of spices.

Frost Bite - a trio of different mints, fresh baked butter cookies, vanilla bean, gooey marshmallow fluff with a touch of caramel.  I smell the mint (mostly a green spearmint),vanilla and warm buttery cookies. This reminds me of The Bathing Garden's Wolfsbane Bite, which is another green mint and butter cookie blend. However Frost Bite is less buttery because of the vanilla.

Frosty Mocha Latte - this winter coffee is blended with cocoa and a stir of a peppermint stick. This is so good! It's a smooth blend of milk chocolate and coffee with a light touch of peppermint. Sometimes coffee scents can be very bitter but not this one. This was all I could smell when I opened the box.

Gingerbread Applesauce - old fashioned warm molasses gingerbread with a touch of applesauce. This is so different than I thought it would be. I mostly smell applesauce and what I'm guessing is the molasses. I don't smell any spice or anything that even remotely smells like gingerbread. This one is pretty nice.

Ginger Snap Noel - warm ginger snap cookies iced in the most delectable of vanillas. I smell the gingersnap but the spices are more subtle than I would've expected. There's a lot of vanilla that helps smooth out the spices and adds a nice sweetness.

Lemon Ginger Snaps - crispy ginger snap cookies with our own sugared lemon creme frosting and candy sugar sprinkles.   Tart lemon and sweet vanilla balance one another out with a warm cookie note in the background. The spices are very subtle. This would make a great year-round scent, and it smells just like Solstice Scents Lemon Ginger Cream perfume.

Mallow Munch - sweet kettle corn, warm salted caramel, toasted marshmallow glaze and sprinkled with toasted pecans. This is a smooth, nutty blend with a subtle sweetness. It smells like buttercream and pecans with a light touch of a toasty note.

Mint Mallow Creme - fresh mints with vanilla sugar and mounds of toasted marshmallow fluff. This is primarily a green spearmint with a vanilla cake in the background. I wish I had grabbed's so good!

Peppermint Marshmallow Snow - a blend of crushed peppermint and candy canes, gooey marshmallow fluff and a little bit of magic mixed in. Lots of peppermint with a vanilla cake note but there's something else I can't make out. It smells a little fuzzy. Pink Sugar maybe?  IDK but this one is so pretty.

Peppermint Snow Cookies - our favorite sugar cookies iced in peppermint meringue frosting with crushed candy cane sprinkles and marshmallow snow. Buttery smooth cookies and cold peppermint. Not a lot of sweetness.

Perfect Autumn Day - smell this one with your eyes closed, and you will be reminded of a cool, sunny perfect autumn day. This is another scent that I know I've smelled before (or something extremely similar) but can't pinpoint where. It's along the lines of Alchemic Muse Countrycide. This smells like dried leaves and hay, maybe something woodsy. It reminds me of being curled up in a warm blanket on the porch swing while watching the sunset on a cool autumn day. It's not exactly unique but still lovely.

Pine Berry Wreath - a beautiful pine bough wreath, studded with sweet berries and fresh balsam. Mmm! Tons of red berries accented with icy pine. Love this! If you missed out, try The Bathing Garden's Mulberry Cabin...they're extremely similar.

Pumpkin Brulee Frappe - this creamy frappe is blended with savory pumpkin brulee, a shot of espresso and a swirl of vanilla froth. Just like a warm pumpkin spice latte. I smell smooth coffee, pumpkin and a light touch of spice.

Pumpkin Chutney - a yummy mix of pumpkin chunks, diced apples, brown sugar and a lively blend of holiday spice sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. This one is really good. I get a lot of spices, pumpkin and brown sugar with a touch of apple. It's a bit similar to Autumn Blessings.

Pumpkin Honey Butter Rolls - I can't find a description for this. It mostly smells of a lightly spiced pumpkin puree with a touch of warm dinner rolls drizzled with honey.

Pumpkin Kiss - we took our best selling Sweet Decadence fragrance and added some pumpkin filling. So Sweet Decadence is a frosted cake fragrance, but I don't think I have it on hand to compare. Pumpkin Kiss smells like pumpkin puree and vanilla bean noel. It's a little light on cold sniff so hopefully that changes when I melt this.

Pumpkin Stuffed French Toast - sweet creamy pumpkin smeared in between two pieces of French toast and covered in maple butter syrup and sprinkled with cinnamon. I think this was a free sample. I smell cinnamon, smooth pumpkin puree, and maple syrup. The French toast is hard to smell, but there is a warm bakery note in the distance. It's sweet, rich and spicy all at once. Love!

Pumpkin Tea Bread - pumpkin bread made with all the warm holiday spices including black tea with a brown sugar glaze drizzled over the top. I can pick up some pumpkin and bakery notes, but this is heavy on the spices and black tea.

Salted Caramel Apple Cider - we took our hand pulled salted caramel candy and swirled it into crisp apple cider. Heavy on a red apple note with a smooth, buttery caramel in the background. I wouldn't call it salted caramel though.

Smoky Mountain Christmas - the invigorating aroma of snow covered balsam pines, fresh evergreens with a faint distant smell of fresh mint and let's not forget that freshly cut cedar wood smell coming from the cabin walls. I don't know why I sometimes smell chocolate in here. This is a masculine blend with icy pine and lots of warm cedar.

Smoking Mirrors - tart pomegranate seeds, rich mahogany, cedar wood, and a touch of raw hide. This is so unique. There's a lot of cedar and leather but the pomegranate in the background gives this an interesting twist. It's a masculine blend, but it's so sexy. If you get the chance, give this a try.

Snow Globe - vanilla beans, candy-coated marshmallows and mounds and mounds of snow. I think this has the rock candy note that LSC uses in a lot of blends but it's been a while since I smelled it. I expected this to be a fluffy, white scent, but it's sweet and a little like strawberry candy.

Sparkling Wonderland - the festive aroma of freshly picked pinecones and evergreen branches soaked in a warm bath of citrus slices and sprinkled with cinnamon. This was a free sample that was generously provided. This is heavy on the citrus (like a grapefruit and orange blend) with the crisp pine enhancing the citrus. The two notes complement one another rather well, and this is a very uplifting scent that would work year-round.

Spooky Apparitions - yummy pumpkin blended with two types of sugar and then dipped in gooey, sticky marshmallows. This reminds me of sweet potatoes with brown sugar and marshmallows. Maybe a pinch of spices, but this is mostly a smooth blend.

Spooky Brew - lightly spices chai tea steeped with pumpkin cream and a dollop of marshmallow on top for the froth. Mostly chai with a warm pumpkin puree, maybe some caramel too. This one is so comforting!

Spun Sugar Apples - crisp red apples dipped in a candy coating, then rolled in hand spun cotton candy. The red apple note is the strongest note, but I also smell what may be strawberry. It's similar to what I smelled in Snow Globe. This isn't as sweet as I expected from the description.

Strawberry Crunch Muffins - warm strawberry muffins with a buttery pecan and brown sugar streusel topping. This was another free sample and I'm glad it was included because I wouldn't have picked this on my own. It's sweet strawberries and buttery muffins with a light sweetness from the brown sugar. This is such a warm and inviting scent that would be great in the kitchen.

Sugar Berry Clove - bursting red cranberries laced with white sugar and mixed with crushed bits of clove. I'm getting tons of cinnamon. I think I can smell the cranberry, but this is almost entirely cinnamon.

Toasted Embers - sticky marshmallows, hints of a warm fire, woods, amber and a little magic blended in. I think this is a B&BW Marshmallow Fireside dupe but I haven't smelled the original to compare. This is a dry, smoky scent with a smooth marshmallow. I expected this to be sweeter because of the marshmallow, but it isn't sweet at all.

Toffee Crunch Latte - warm toffee caramel, sweet apple syrup, shot of dark roasted coffee with a dollop of whipped cream  drizzled with creamy vanilla sauce. Sweet, creamy toffee and a smooth coffee. I don't smell any apple at all. I wish I had gotten more coffee blends because LSC does them really well!

Vanilla Nog Pound Cake - creamy vanilla egg nog and buttery cake. This really doesn't smell like eggnog. I get a boozy black licorice note with a small amount of smooth vanilla. I wonder if this was mislabeled?

Final thoughts - there's a ton of great scents between these two restocks and I'm glad to have tried so many. Again, I'm unsure whether there will be another opening, so the best way to keep up with LSC is to follow their Facebook page for updates.
