Super Tarts TMNT Sampler

Disclaimer - all products were purchased by me.

This was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle themed sampler set that I ordered earlier this year and I'm finally getting around to reviewing it. There were quite a few fruity blends that I was excited to try and everything lived up to my expectations. I'm saving most of these for the warmer months since there's a lot of tropical blends here, so most of these are cold sniff reviews.

April - ginger ale, Mac apple, marshmallow and cotton candy. I  love Brandy's apple blends and effervescent blends, so this is the one I was most excited for. It smells similar to sparkling cider. The apple and ginger ale stand out the most although the ginger ale seems to be a little stronger. I don't smell the marshmallow or cotton candy, but those are two notes that my nose has trouble detecting so this is what I expected. This scent is much lighter than the other apple blends I've tried from Super Tarts and I suspect the marshmallow may be the cause of that. Either way, I'll definitely repurchase this one.

Bebop and Rocksteady - sugar taffy, blackberry and pineapple. Heavy on the pineapple and blackberry. These two Super Tarts notes tend to register as cloying to my nose but they're equally sweet and tangy here. That must be the taffy note that is pulling everything together. This one is really good and I'd definitely repurchase.

Donatello - lavender cream and honeydew melon. Two notes that I generally avoid but somehow this smells really good. The lavender is pretty strong and I don't know where the cream note plays into this - almost every lavender blend I've tried from Super Tarts has been very sharp and herbal. But the honeydew helps to balance out the lavender by adding a sweet softness.

Krang - cotton candy frosting, serendipity and cucumber melon. A sweet but slightly tangy fruit blend, somewhat like a combo of pineapple and honeydew. There's a slight trace of cucumber but this is more of a fruity blend. I'm really surprised by this one. I didn't think I would like this but I'd definitely repurchase it.

Leonardo - blue cotton candy, blackberry jam butter cookies and sweet tarts. Sweet, fruity, mostly tangy. It smells like a sweet and sour blue raspberry candy. I don't smell the cookie note in here. This one is really good and I'll likely order more.

Michelangelo - sweet fried doughnuts, fruity loops and cream cheese frosting. This one smells just like a bowl of Fruit Loops cereal. It's sweet and a little tangy with a subtle touch of citrus notes. I'm not smelling the doughnut or cream cheese notes so this leans more fruity than bakery. It has a moderate throw in the warmer but I couldn't smell anything by the end of the day (I used half of the scent shot).

Pizza Time - basil, raspberry and tomato leaf. This is a sharp green blend with the tomato leaf and basil being the dominant notes. The raspberry adds a subtle sweetness but doesn't stand out much in the warmer. This is very similar to Neville from the Muggle Melts/Harry Potter collection of scents. Pizza Time is a little sweeter while Neville is brighter and more fresh,  but you probably don't need both.

Raphael - fresh picked strawberries and watermelon Jolly Ranchers. This smells like a mix of both strawberry and watermelon Jolly Ranchers. It's a tangy blend but there's also a candy sweetness. I cut the scent shot into three pieces and got a strong throw in the warmer with just one piece.

Shredder - papaya, mango and 7-Up pound cake. An effervescent tropical fruit blend. It smells like some kind of fruity soda. I mostly get the 7-Up with some slightly sweet but mostly tangy tropical fruit notes. This one is mouthwatering and a definite repurchase.

Splinter - Biolage, key lime and Brazilian jackfruit. These Biolage blends are starting to grow on me and this one is my favorite so far. It's like a tropical clean scent. I get a blend of lime and something that smells like pineapple with a clean green undertone. I haven't melted this yet but it's strong on cold sniff so I'm expecting a strong throw.

Final thoughts - this is an incredible offering of scents and I'm glad I ordered this sampler. It's hard to narrow down a few favorites, but my must haves are April, Shredder, Splinter, Krang and Beebop & Rocksteady. Ok, so that's more like half of the set. Brandy really knocked it out of the park with this sampler. This sampler is no longer available on the website  but all of these scents will eventually be offered in clamshell form as Brandy cycles through the scent list. She recently announced that she plans to open the website to carry the entire scent list in the near future, so be sure to follow the Super Tarts Facebook page for updates on that.
