Pam from LSC did another round of preorders back in mid-October for the holiday scents, and here's what I picked up. I kept it small this time, but only because I still have an overflowing box of autumn and winter scents from last year that I've been working through.
The turn around time was approximately a month which is standard for her preorders. There were a couple freebies included in the box along with candy canes and a personalized thank you card.
Apple Pie Latte
A slice of apple pie complete with the sugary crumb crust, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and hints of luscious, creamy latte notes in the background.
Sweet apples, a barely noticeable pinch of cinnamon, and warm roasted coffee. The coffee is a little bitter, more like black coffee instead of a milky latte, and the apple is very sweet and leans more perfumey than fresh.
Christmas Day Brunch
Fresh pastries with sweet vanilla cream, hot cakes with melted butter and warm maple syrup and the smell of holiday spices in the background.
The butter and maple syrup are the strongest two notes supported by a background of warm fluffy pancakes. I'm also smelling a strong nutty aroma and a touch of spices, but they're pretty subtle.
Lemon Ginger Snaps
Crispy gingersnap cookies with our own sugared lemon creme frosting and candy sugar sprinkles.
Dreamy lemon curd with a sharp bite of ginger and the aroma of warm cookies that fills the kitchen. More of a lemon scent than a bakery one, and very similar to Solstice Scents Lemon Ginger Cream perfume.
This is a straight-up blend of invigorating peppermint and our signature soothing lavender. The best of both worlds!
More invigorating than soothing. It's heavy on the peppermint but underneath there's that beautiful tranquil lavender that LSC is so well known for. It falls somewhere between herbal and sweet but leans slightly more herbal.
Peppermint Snow Cookies
Our favorite sugar cookies iced in peppermint meringue frosting with crushed candy cane sprinkles and marshmallow snow.
A strong burst of peppermint and ultra fluffy marshmallows with the soft aroma of cookies baking in the oven. Maybe a little coconut too? Probably my favorite bakery/mint blend, and it just occurred to me that this smells similar to Solstice Scents Snowmint Mallow perfume.
Plum Sugar Tea Party
Sugar plums, sweet and tart holiday berries blended with sweet tea.
Another great tea blend by LSC. Crisp tea leaves stand out the most, blended with a succulent plum and just a sprinkle of sugar. It's similar to Blackberry Ren Tea that I reviewed with my last order, but lighter in feel and a touch sweeter.
Spring Mountain Mint
Sprigs of wild mint, frosty peppermint and cooling eucalyptus among a garden of green ivy.
I get a little bit of everything in here, and it's like a mix of white linens and mint leaves. Clean, green and icy is what this is. This is the most unique mint blend I've found and have been hanging on to it for over a year now, waiting for it to return so I could order a backup.
Toffee Crunch Latte
Warm toffee caramel, sweet apple syrup, a shot of dark roasted coffee with a dollop of whipped cream drizzled with creamy vanilla sauce.
This one is nearly identical to Apple Pie Latte. The only differences I notice is that this one is sweeter from the sticky caramel & toffee and lacks the spice notes.
Winter White Cake
A frosty winter version of out stunning Wedding Cake with a toss of Double Mint Confetti.
The fluffiest, richest vanilla cake with mounds of vanilla frosting, garnished with crushed candy canes and mint leaves. White cake is a note that my nose often has a hard time detecting, but the one that Pam uses always pulls through strong in any blend.
Recap - gimme that Spring Mountain Mint and Peppermint Snow Cookies! Everything that Pam creates is divine, but those are the two I've been reaching for lately. The website is closed right now, but she will be opening soon for a customer favorites round of preorders.
