The Bathing Garden Winter...and Valentine's Day!

Disclaimer - all products were purchased by me.

It's time for more Bathing Garden goodies! I just can't seem to get enough of her creations. I kept it small this time since I had most of the Holiday scents from previous years, so these are the newer ones that called to me.

And as a bonus, it turns out that I had a big chunk of the Valentine's scents that have been added to the website so I'm gonna include those as well. A lot of them have been offered before and Shannon was sweet enough to include the newer ones as freebies, so it all works out nicely.

Samples in Glacier Blue (blue), Candied Peppermint Petals (pink) and Just Jasmine Frost (gold).

Bohemian Solstice - blue raspberry snow, rich cream cheese bites, all topped with a lavender chamomile glaze. A meditative blend of fresh chamomile and lavender (more chamomile) with a drop of blue raspberry syrup to sweeten things up a bit. It's a lovely blend perfect for the evenings.

Candied Acorn & Fig - smells of a rich, nutty patisserie highlighted with sweet fig. Yum! I smell the B&BW Brown Sugar Fig dupe which means it's backup worthy. It's mostly earthy and smooth from the acorns but there's a sweet accent of brown sugar. Love it!

Candied Peppermint Petals - marshmallow peppermint crystallized over sweet rose petals. Smells like Lush Rose Jam (a lemon and fresh cut rose blend) with a strong blast of wintery peppermint extract. I have a hard time getting into florals at this time of year, but this is a nice addition to the winter melt rotation.

Frosted Snow Angels - white chocolate dipped caramel pears layered over pink sugar cookies. This one does a bit of changing in the warmer. Sometimes it's a decadent caramelized pear and other times it's all pink sugar cookies with the pear peeking in from time to time.

Glacier Blue - a refreshing peppermint scent that surprises with menthol, musk, and slight citrus notes. Menthol and peppermint stand out the most (particularly the menthol), but instead of citrus and musk I smell a sweet white floral that reads baby powder. Not at all what I was expecting, but it's still really good and has a strong throw.

Just Jasmine Frost - strong, feminine, heady jasmine with notes of ylang ylang and vanilla. Strong...check. Feminine...check. And heady...check. This is all I can smell whenever I open the box the order came in. A sultry, intoxicating jasmine with a touch of sweet vanilla. It's pretty potent on cold sniff so I'll be cutting the sample into smaller pieces.

Seasonal Madness - smells of sweet cotton candy glazed apples, creamed corn, vanilla frosting and pumpkin pudding. This was the October scent of the month (or was it September? I don't remember) so it's off the website by now. It's lightly spiced apples and pumpkin puree and...creamed corn. It really does smell like a can of creamed corn, and I'm not too sure how to feel about it.

Sleigh Bells - frosty sugar dusted pines layered with orange, candy cane, clove and a hint of apples. The top layer is sweet candy canes and the bottom layer is the pine, but I'm definitely smelling sugar mixed in. Like marshmallow. No spices or fruits though.

Valentine's Collection -

Samples in Cupid (white), Cinderella Would be Jealous (pink), Love & Madness (blue), Complicated (mini lips) and Rose Glace (scrub).

Brown Sugar Cream Rose Bouquet - whipped buttercream is blended with brown sugar and sprinkled with sugared rose petals. Perfumey pink rose sweetened by the brown sugar and just a touch of cream underneath. I think this is the same floral note from Lemon Curd & Rose Milk instead of the Rose Jam dupe (it's missing that lemon bite that the latter has).

Cinderella Would Be Jealous - almond cake, marzipan, and vanilla icing. A dupe of Lush Snowcake. Very powdery and cloying almond with no cherry notes.

Coconut Crystal Cake - nutty cake batter topped with shredded coconut. Sugared coconut flakes and rich cake with some almond slivers sprinkled on top. Not as sweet as some coconut cake blends I've tried, but very thick and rich. This one is so good!

Complicated - caramel coffee is layered under a blend of coconut, vanilla, chocolate, and crushed pretzels. Coffee and coconut cream stand out the most, but I also get a warm, salty pretzel mixed in. Sometimes her coffee scents are pretty bitter but not this one. It's really good, and the coconut is a unique twist.

Cupid - sweet jasmine and vanilla blended into a milky floral. Very different than Just Jasmine Frost even though they are both jasmine and vanilla blends. Cupid is more like gardenia or tuberose (still trying to learn the difference!). It's not sweet nor is it milky like Just Jasmine. This one has a dirtier, sort of grungy feel to it with a fresh lemony topnote. They're both beautiful, but Cupid takes my preference - it's less "in your face" and much softer.

Lemon Curd & Rose Milk - tart lemon curd is layered over fresh cut roses and blended with rich milk. An oldie but goodie. Creamy lemon and a rose that teeter totters between fresh and perfumey with a soft milky aroma to blend it all together. This is not a Rose Jam dupe but it's just as good. The throw is very strong in the warmer.

Love & Madness - a beautiful fruity floral that blends juicy berries and lush white florals. A powdery, soft perfume blend. It smells like raspberries, sweet florals, and maybe a touch of white musk.

Old Fashioned Valentine - a sugary sweet treat with vanilla, marzipan, dark fruits, and spices. Not really sugary but more like a rich cream with a touch of spices, sort of like eggnog. It smells exactly like this -

Raspberry Hearts - strawberry slices, ripe raspberries, and white cake bites. Tangy tangy tangy (did I say tangy?) raspberries. It's bold, juicy, and one of my favorite berry scents ever. It throws light in the warmer so I needed two cubes, but damn I love this one regardless.

Rose Glace - rose petals, fresh citrus, and touches of strawberry, vanilla and geranium. A dupe of Lush Rose Jam. It's a bright and cheery blend of fresh lemon and a perfumey rose. I love how girly this scent is and it's perfect for spring.

The Sweetest Thing - Delicious and sweet...red berries, cherries, peaches and citrus, and the faintest hint of a walk through a garden. Another Lush scent, this time it's a dupe of Yummy Yummy Yummy. The citrus really jumps out and makes this more of a tangy blend instead of sweet, with ripe cherries and a soft woody note underneath. It took a while for this one to grow on me, but I really like it now.

Recap - good stuff right here! I already ordered more of some returning favorites like Old Fashioned Valentine and Raspberry Hearts, and clammies in the new Cupid, Candied Acorn & Fig, and Love & Madness scents. Everything here is currently available on the website.

There's a note on the website saying the circus collection will be available on 1/13. Its an epic collection that you have to check out! Here's a review of the last two Circus collections to help you plot your order =)

  1. Excellent haul!! I loved reading your thoughts on the scents. That jasmine one knocked me out. I had to give it to my mom. She loves her skanky jasmine (I do too sometimes but more for personal fragrance vs. home fragrance). I am kicking myself for not getting the fig and acorn one. I hear Winter will stay up until mid-Feb so I will sneak one in. And Valentine is Creamy Nutmeg?!? That is one BBW candle I have not been able to smell. Good to know!! I have one clamshell of that coming and now you got me really stoked for it.

I agree with you on the coconut scrub. It is amazing. I had it in a parfait last year and my mom and sisters were cooing over it too. I kinda wished she had done the parfait in it again but I won't be picky. I will grab what I can.

    Enjoy your TBG goodies <3

    1. Hi Julie! Agreed on the jasmine. The tart is one that I'm hesitant to melt, but I just got an order today and love the parfait! Might even grab another. You know, I'm not sure if Valentine is a dupe but it smells so close to the room spray from a looong time ago. I just melted it yesterday, and it's creamy like eggnog but not very spicy with some almond sweetness. Did BBW ever make that scent in a lotion?

Do you have an order on the way?
