Cocoa Pink #7

Disclaimer - all products were purchased by me.

Well, here it is. The last batch of Cocoa Pink scents that I have.

A Day at the Beach

White sand castles lace the shoreline, black eyed Susan daisies scatter gingerly among thin blades of dune grass, hints of expensive warmed tanning oil with lashings of creamy coconut milk flow through gentle breezes and the indulgent aroma of smooth Madagascar vanilla beans complete this absolutely perfect day at the beach (Spring/Summer)

Format - Ends with Benefits and EdP (alcohol based perfume)

I have a hard time telling this apart from the Bobbi Brown Beach dupe down below. They both smell like tanning lotion and wet sand, although this one ooccasionally gives off the faintest hint of coconut milk.

Barefoot in the Garden

Candy floss and soft white rose petals barely kissed with freshly cut dewy green grass and just a whisper of upturned spring soil (Spring/Summer)

Format - perfume oil

This one is all dirt and fresh grass, and I swear there is a touch of mint as well because it has a chilly feel to it. The rose comes out later in the drydown with sharp green notes and dew droplets present. Overall it has a very strong chemical smell that reminds me of pesticide spray.

Warm sand, sea spray, salt, jasmine and mandarin (Spring/Summer)

Format - EdP (alcohol based) perfume

A dupe of the Bobbi Brown scent, it smells like tanning lotion, sea salt and warm golden rays of the sun. There's a little bit of that chemical smell from the sunscreen but it's still pleasant. The jasmine becomes more pronounced later in the drydown.

Beautiful Daydream

Pink grapefruit essential oil infused with juicy Kaffir lime accented with the unadulterated gentle fragrance of clean cotton laundry dried only by the summer wind and sun under cerulean blue skies (Spring/Summer)

Format - perfume oil

A dupe for Yankee Candle Clean Cotton with accents of sweet lime in the opening. It's a breezy, crisp white scent that smells like freshly laundered sheets. Love it!

Bonfire Celebration

White sand, cool salty sea air meet with the fragrances of sandalwood, sparkling pink champagne and wisps of smoke from a crackling bonfire (Spring/Summer)

Format - ShamPink

Clean and salty, like a clothes line of sun-dried white linens hanging outside of a beach house.

Candy Coated Clowns

A rainbow of fruit punch encapsulated in a thick cotton candy coating (Fall/Winter)

Format - EdP perfume

Black cherry veering into cough medicine territory. It's thick and sticky but eventually lightens with the addition of cotton candy that makes it smell more like a cherry Slurpee.

Candy Corn Cake Pops

White cake pops slathered with decadent swirls of caramel apple infused buttercream frosting rolled in bowls of candy corn (Fall/Winter)

Format - EdP (alcohol based) perfume

Thick buttercream, a burnt smelling caramel and plasticky candy corn. I didn't smell any apple.

Caribbean Shipwreck

Bright citrus fruits including yuzu, blood orange and juicy kumquat infused with coconut palm and fresh coconut water (Spring/Summer)

Format - perfume oil

A fun summery blend that starts out with sunny yuzu and later dries down to milky coconut and orange. I turned my nose up at this one for the longest time because it smelled like a mans after shave, but now it's aged quite nicely.

Cinderella's Carriage

What did Cinderella really wish for? We think it was this blend of coconut cream pie with marshmallow meringue, sweet pumpkin, Spiritueuse Double Vanilla and Vanilla Bean Noel. We think this is the REAL reason the prince fell in love. Who could resist Cinderella in sexy foody? (Year-round)

Format - Voluptuous Body Butter

Pumpkin puree (no spices) and toasted coconut that fades into a sweet vanilla cream. It reminds me of a pumpkin macaroon scent from another brand that I smelled a ways back, but I can't remember who had it. Not sexy but it definitely is yummy!

Cream Puff

Tastes like dessert. Delicious mouthwatering cream puff pastries with a dusting of cinnamon. Cinnamon is very light but could cause irritation to sensitive skin (Year-round)

Format - ShamPink

This smells just like the Ivory Eyelet scent I reviewed a while back, and I can't tell them apart. It's just like buttercream frosting with no spice notes, and the smell is extremely light in this format.

Dreaming of Roses

Yellow and orange rose petals drizzled with airy whispers of marshmallow cream brightened with an explosion of lemon, bergamot and tobacco (Spring/Summer)

Format - Shine Sweetie Conditioner

Cocoa Pink does some of the prettiest rose blends, and this is another to add to that list. A fresh rose without any dewy, green notes that is heightened with bergamot and dry tobacco. The tobacco had me hesitant to try this one, but it compliments the citrus nicely.

Bulgarian roses, fresh juicy apples and vine ripened strawberries sweetened up with sugar cookies topped with candied cherries and sprinkled with confectioners' sugar (Spring/Summer)

Format - perfume oil, Ends with Benefits

Red apples and plump red berries with the aroma of the prettiest rose buds dancing around the edges. It's more fruity than floral, and I don't smell the bakery note in here. It's pretty similar to The Bathing Gardens Pearls of Winter scent, and I love to combine the two because they compliment one another well.

Love Punch

Give your love a sip of our punch! A blend of peach soda, sweet strawberries and a splash of champagne (Spring/Summer)

Format - EdP alcohol based perfume

The most realistic tart strawberry with the teensiest amount of fizzy bubbles. It dries into soft peach blended with a dry champagne. This is a nice one for the warmer months and it's one of the few scents in my stash that my 5 y/o likes!

Lychee Rose Macaroons

French almond macaroons created using the best ingredients available - pink tea roses, fresh lychee fruit and whipped buttercream (Year-round)

Format - perfume oil, Ends with Benefits

It's similar to Heavenly Basbousa but more floral and less bakery. Sugared rose petals and almonds with creamy cake. This one is very sweet and delicate.

Sanibel Island

Soft Tahitian vanilla, coconut milk, coconut pulp, clear aqua ocean water deepened with a cool ozone accord (Spring/Summer)

Format - Ends with Benefits

A crisp, clean blend that is heavy on the ozone accord against a milky coconut background. The sillage on this is quite strong.

Whispers of sweet, European lavender and weeping apple blossoms cuddled in pillows of marshmallow clouds and vanilla cream (Year-round)

Format - EdP (alcohol based) perfume

Lots of fluffy sweet marshmallows with something clean and slightly woodsy to ground it, like oak maybe. I was hoping for the apple blossom to show up but neither floral note was present.

Sugared Violets

Blue violet petals dipped in sparkling white sugar crystals (Year-round)

Format - EdP (alcohol based) perfume

Super sweet, kinda powdery violets with a drydown of fluffy marshmallow cream. It becomes sweeter the longer it wears on my skin.

Yellow Flip Flops

Creamy banana pudding infused with vanilla extract then blended with ripe banana slices and vanilla wafers with an extra shot of cold whipped cream. If you are looking for a realistic banana pudding scent, look no further (Spring/Summer)

Format - perfume oil

It does smell just like the instant banana pudding with Nilla Wafers at first. After a couple hours it becomes vanilla and a clean musk with a sour undertone. This would probably be good in hair products, but I think my skin is making it smell off as a perfume.

So that's everything I have from Cocoa Pink. Overall, I have mixed feelings towards their fragrance library. There's a handful of nice scents, and only a couple of these that I would certainly repurchase. Most, though, fell flat. What I noticed is that either a lot of these weren't as detailed on my skin as the description (like smelling two notes when there were half a dozen listed) or a strong chemical, sour and/or plasticky aroma. There are a few notes that they do well like rose, honey and pumpkin. To me, the strength of the brand is being able to customize their high-quality products with such a large scent catalog rather than in the scents themselves, if that makes any sense. There are many fragrances that I still want to try, but I think I'm going to focus more on ordering their unscented products and experiment by adding perfume oils from other brands.

You can find all of these scents (and many more) in a variety of products over at Cocoa Pink. The autumn and winter scents are currently on the website while the spring and summer scents will be made available in the next month or so.
