Epically Epic Sweet Summer

Disclaimer - all products were purchased by me

I was so happy about my last order with Epically Epic that I couldn't wait to make another purchase. It was hard to narrow it down and not grab one of everything, but I showed some restraint. Key word, some. Her whipped body butter formula is absolutely divine, and the lip balm flavors irresistible. The turn around time was approximately two weeks, and she threw in an extra lip balm as a sample.

Seaside Lavender
French lavender fields, ocean air, sea salt and a hint of coconut

A crisp blend of aquatic breezes and extra zing from the sea salt on a soft bed of creamy coconut milk. I don't smell the lavender though. This one is really pretty and I can't wait to dive right in.

Turkish Delight
Sweetened rosewater, powdered sugar and a little bit of pistachio

OK, I've tried this a few times and keep getting the same result - it smells like beer. Budweiser to be specific. I was the most excited for this one and I don't know what is happening here, but it just isn't working out well =(

Lip Balms

Banana Walnut

This was a free sample that Allison included. I thought I read that these are given with orders over $30? I can't find a description though because it isn't listed in her shop. Anyways, it smells just like banana bread. The banana is sweet like candy with a warm bakery note to support it and plenty of chopped nuts mixed throughout the batter. Yum!

Cardamom Rice Milk
A unique lip balm flavored with green cardamom essential oil, nutmeg seed, Basmati vanilla and rice milk.

Woodsy cardamom and fresh nutmeg on a buttery vanilla base. It tingles my lips a little, so you might want to avoid this if you're concerned about sensitivities to the spices.

Coconut Almond
This is a simple, delicious smelling gourmand flavor with almond and the loveliest of coconuts.

Creamy vanilla cake garnished with shaved coconut and slivers of almonds that lean slightly cherry.

Lavender Sugar Cookies
Warm, buttery, fresh-baked sugar cookies with a twist of French lavender

It's just like the body butter that I reviewed last time with the herbal lavender and buttery sugar cookies, but this one is heavier on the lavender. The cookie is there, but it's barely noticeable and doesn't have time to shine before the scent fades.

Snow Cone
Sweet cherry-watermelon popsicle syrup, blue raspberry and citrus

Like a blue raspberry slushee mixed with bubbly lemon lime soda. A little more tangy than sweet.

Turkish Delight
Sweetened rosewater, powdered sugar and a little bit of pistachio

Same thing as above, it smells like sour beer.

Vanilla Rose
Sweet and smoky vanillas with fresh rose petals

There's that beer note again. It's definitely the rose, which makes me sad because I wanted to use that note for a custom perfume. Anyways, this one is similar to Turkish Delight but a little smoother from the vanilla base. It's a little more pleasant than the Turkish Delight, but I think I'll have to avoid her rose blends for now on.

Lip Shimmer

Olive butter, olive oil, candelilla wax, carnauba wax, virgin coconut oil, castor oil, olive squalane, vitamin E, natural sweetener, mineral color (mica, iron oxide, titanium dioxide), flavor. $3.75 each

This is a tinted lip balm in Vanilla Rose, which the color is described as "a sheer, pretty, pale pink with lots of sparkle." Lots of sparkle, indeed. If anything, it's frosty rather than sparkly. The color is a dusty pink / my lips but better shade, but that shimmer is taking me straight back to the 80's. I'll wear this before bedtime but not outside the house.

The formula is just as smooth-gliding as the regular lip balms, and I only needed a couple swipes. The perfect consistency, too - not too tacky not too oily/slippery. There is a slight graininess from the pigment and the formula is just the teensiest bit drier than the lip balms, but only barely. The color itself is very pigmented and those few swipes were more than enough to give full coverage.

Just about everything worked out well here. I love the Seaside Lavender butter and most of the balms, especially Cardamom Rice Milk. Sadly the Turkish Rose scent didn't work out as well as I had hoped, and that's the one I was most eager to try. I wanted to blind buy a few jars, but see, there's that restraint I mentioned. Ah well. In the meantime, there's plenty to enjoy while I await the next collection. It looks like everything here is still available except for Lavender Sugar Cookie, but there's lots of stuff on the website to check out.
