The Melting Duck Haul

Disclaimer - all products were purchased by me

This is a new-to-me brand that I've seen mentioned in a few wax groups and have been eyeing the website for a while now. I heard they were doing an unlimited preorder for sugar scrubs and decided to jump right in. I ordered back on 4/28 and this box arrived a few days ago. Shipping was $10 and they included some wax samples and a cute yellow duck that my daughter was waiting to snatch up as we opened the box.

Berry B. Good
Chuck Berry inspired. Strawberry shortcake and juniper breeze

A sample of two duck shaped wax tarts that were included. Without knowing the description at first, I thought this was cranberry with wintery green freshness. It's a very tart red berry scent with a heavy hand of cool juniper. I ended up enjoying this more than I thought I would given the description is something I would've passed on. Both pieces together gave off a strong throw that lasted nearly all day.

Duck Whip
Fresh pineapple and vanilla ice cream

Sweet pineapple chunks on top of a bowl of melted ice cream. The vanilla is the strongest note, making this a rich, delicious summer treat.

Pistachio Birthday Cake
Pistachio pudding cake, birthday cake and honey almonds

Pistachio scents are iffy because they usually have this extra sharp, cloying cherry cough syrup note that just hurts my nose. And while I do smell that in here, the birthday cake helps smooth things out and that cherry note is much softer. It's still pretty sweet like pistachio pudding but extra creamy and smells like there are toasted nuts on top.

Whipped Body Scrub

Water, glycerin, sodium cocoyl isethionate, sorbitol, disodium lauryl sulfosuccinate, sodium chloride, phenoxyethanol, tetrasodium EDTA, fragrance oil, body safe colorant, sugar, shea butter.

8 oz jars (10 oz net weight), $12.00 each

This is a foaming sugar scrub so it rinses away clean without any oily residue left behind. Looking over the ingredients, it appears to be made from a base of thick, fluffy whipped soap. The sugar crystals look to be on the smaller side, but this scrub really packs a punch. I got around 20 seconds of scrubbing action before the sugar dissolved completely, leaving a creamy white lather behind that is good for both cleansing and shaving. Both scrubs are strongly scented and left behind a soft fragrance on my skin.

It's a small order, but I'm very happy with the scrubs and plan on ordering more the next time they're offered. They haven't announced the next sugar scrub opening, but they are opening for 1/2 pound wax bags later this evening (June 5) at 7 PM EST. I'll be sitting this restock out but will definitely be following the Facebook group for future openings.

  1. Oooo the duck whip sounds amazing!! This is also a vendor I have yet to try but have heard good things

    1. It is! I don't know when it will be available again but Alchemic Muse has a pineapple milk scent that is very similar and just as good.
